First off, we would like to help you get a better understanding of Kappa Sigma’s Rush and pledge process. Kappa Sigma rushes 365 days out of the year and we are constantly looking for upstanding men willing to join our brotherhood. We understand your concerns about typical fraternal stereotypes, but I hope to help you get a better understanding of the process and dispell any of those negative stereotypes. What is rush?
Rush is a great way to learn more about Kappa Sigma and an opportunity to meet the members and ask any questions you might have. We have several rush events planned through out the year from sporting events to cook outs to sorority mixers.
How does the process work?
First, you must go to the Office of Campus Life in the Student Center (second floor) and fill out a Rush Form with the school. They have attached a charge of $10 to have your rush application processed. After they have received your rush application, we will be able to view it and contact you. Then, if you have shown interest in us and we are interested in you, we will offer you a bid to pledge Kappa Sigma. Accepting our invitation does not make you a pledge yet. We have an induction ceremony that you will have to attend to be considered a pledge.
What is a pledge?
A pledge is an associate member of the fraternity. All pledges go through this pledge process to fulfill their own and Kappa Sigma’s requirements of becoming a brother.
What happens during the pledge period?
During the pledge period you’ll learn about Kappa Sigma’s history, traditions, and values. Pledges are encouraged to come out to all our events and participate with us as much as possible to get to know the brothers of the chapter. At the end of the pledge period, you will be initiated and then forever be a brother in the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
How long is Kappa Sigma’s pledge period?
Kappa Sigma has a 60-day pledge period. Our pledge periods begin at the start of the semester, usually three to four weeks after the semester begins.
Will I be hazed?
Kappa Sigma has a national anti-hazing policy. Our pledge program is free of hazing of any sort and we strongly discourage any type of behavior that wold be considered hazing.

Kappa Sigma is for any man who wants a fun and meaningful college experience. As any brother will tell you, membership in Kappa Sigma is a powerful and rewarding experience– offering social, academic, leadership, and service opportunities you can’t get anywhere else.
What else does Kappa Sigma offer?
Kappa Sigma offers an extensive scholarship program, excellent community service events, valuable leadership opportunities, and a fun social atmosphere. Kappa Sigma is an excellent asset for any college student. The Kappa Sigma Scholarship program, the largest in the fraternal world, distributes $250,000 to brothers and pledges annually. Kappa Sigma provides many opportunities for community service, gaining the respect from many ranking individuals.
